Circulation

Students are allowed up to a limit of 3 check outs at any give time, this does not include the textbooks signed out for the school year

Standard loan period is 3 weeks but students may exchange items as often as they wish during school hours.

Donations

Donations will be accept for the Learning Common’s Collection under the following guidelines:

  1. Item is appropriate fiction reading for middle school age level or junior high curriculum
  2. Age of item does not exceed 5 years
  3. Item is in good condition
  4. If donated item does not support the collection it will be sent to another Learning Commons that can use it.

Textbooks

Textbooks will be assigned to students at the beginning of September for the duration of the school year
Should a textbook be lost or damaged the student will be have to pay the replacement cost of the item before receiving another textbook

Lost/damaged books

Students will not be allowed to sign out new material until overdue item(s) are returned
Lost or damaged books must be paid for before a student will be allowed to sign out new material

Any lost or damaged item from the Learning Commons may be paid for in one of three options:

  1. Pay for item
  2. Purchase a copy of item and donate to the Learning Commons
  3. Donate a item of equal value preferable in same subject or genre to the Learning Commons collection.

Volunteers

Volunteers are welcome in the Learning Commons. A criminal record check must be completed prior to being able to volunteer. If you would like to volunteer or need more information please contact Mrs. Ratzlaff via email or the school at 587-775-3523.

Purchase Recommendations for Learning Commons Collection

Parents and students are encouraged to submit titles for purchase to enhance the Learning Common’s collection. Please contact Mrs. Ratzlaff if you would like to make a suggestion.
