Homework

Due-dates and upcoming test dates will also be communicated in your student's agenda. Please check your e-mail for the Extra Practice Booklet that was sent home for Math. Watching/listening to current events (the news, or programs like Daily Planet) and reading 'good-fit' books are always good options as well. Many textbooks can be found in PDF form by simply Googling the name, and a multitude of additional resources are available by searching whatever type of work you are interested in!

Image Ever wonder why your teacher asks you to read all the time?!?!
This image shows some information regarding reading progress and time spent reading daily. This is why all students are provided with the 20 minute reading block at the beginning of each morning!
Complete Canadian Curriculum books
The Complete Canadian Curriculum books can be purchased at most Costco, Walmart and Superstore locations, and I'm providing a link to Amazon.ca as well. These workbooks are fantastic resources for anyone looking for additional support/homework that you can do at home, and they are available in subject-specific books (ex. Complete Math Smart, Complete English Smart) as well as at a variety of grade levels. I highly encourage you to pick up something like this if you feel as though you need materials at home to help your child be more successful at school!
